PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a scan start position from being shifted or dispersed on a medium to be scanned, and to provide an image of high quality. SOLUTION: The image forming device includes a laser oscillation means for oscillating a laser beam, based on a pixel clock generated by N-dividing a high-frequency clock, a laser beam deflection means for deflecting a laser beam to scan the medium to be scanned thereon by the laser beam, and a synchronization detecting means for synchronization-detecting the laser beam deflected by the laser beam deflection means. The image forming device further includes a pixel clock changing means capable of changing the number of division in every one-pixel block, and a scanning width is partially extended or contracted partially by the pixel clock changing means.
