<p>Disclosed is a novel polyazomethine which is soluble in relatively versatile organic solvents including hydrophobic solvents such as toluene, alcohol solvents such as methanol and ethanol, glycol solvents such as propylene glycol monomethyl ether, and ester solvents such as methyl lactate, while securing carrier mobility sufficient for a semiconductor material. Specifically disclosed is a polyazomethine which is characterized by comprising a repeating unit that contains a divalent aromatic ring-containing conjugated group wherein an azomethine group and an optionally substituted divalent aromatic group are alternately bonded and conjugated and a divalent hydrocarbon group which may have a group that is not conjugated with the azomethine group and has an oxygen atom, a sulfur atom or a cycloalkylene group, said aromatic ring-containing conjugated group and said hydrocarbon group being bonded with each other via the azomethine group.</p> |
