The device has a nozzle (14) i.e. rotation nozzle, formed under specific angle diagonally or vertical to a longitudinal axis or a main flow direction of a linear profile (15), which intersects a fluid stream (16) e.g. pressurized air stream and gas stream, which is emitted from the nozzle. The device and the profile are movable relative to each other, and the fluid stream is circulated around the longitudinal axis in sections and directed against a movement direction of the profile. The nozzle is arranged such that the profile is centered by the fluid stream to produce force equilibrium. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning and drying a linear profile.
