The method for producing profile a profile by cold-rolling with double-sided galvanized top and bottom and zinc-aluminum, aluminum-zinc, zinc-magnesium or aluminum coated steel strip (1), comprises coating a narrow side of the steel strip before, during or after the transformation of the steel strip continuously with a protective layer (31) from a metallic material in which the narrow side is heated through inductive heating by a high frequency generator (33) and purified before or after heating on which the protective layer is applied by flame spraying or electric arc spraying. The steel strip is thin at initial state, compressed at narrow sides to large thickness by the profile, and is transformed to a C-shaped mounting rail after compression. The profile comprises a weld seam produced by a point-shaped heat source in longitudinal direction, where the weld seam and/or an area associated with the welding process is continuously coated with a protective layer formed from a metallic material. The weld seam is produced by laser welding. The metallic material is supplied in powdery form for the process of flame spraying or electric arc spraying. The surfaces to be coated are provided with a high-frequency generator having a temperature that corresponds to the melting temperature of the applied metallic material. The cleaning of the surfaces is carried out by a machining process.</p>
