PURPOSE: An automatic long-distance transfer system for containers is provided to implement self energy supply by solar power generation using a space above the road. CONSTITUTION: An automatic long-distance transfer system for containers comprises vertical columns(10), a rail(30), an electric carriage(40), and a controller. The vertical columns are installed at an interval as being projected on the center of the top of the road. The rail connects the vertical columns by being installed in the longitudinal direction of the road above the road surface. The electric carriage comprises a container grip part(50) and transfers a container(C) by the power of a motor along the rail. The controller controls the operation of the electric carriage.
