IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for reading a recording medium (paper) or adjustment patterns printed on a transfer belt to calculate parameters of image quality adjustment to adjust image quality.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a printer part including the transfer belt for transferring developer images formed on an image carrier and a fixing device for fixing the developer images transferred on the transfer belt on the recording medium, an image processing part for inputting image data and outputting the image data adjusted in the image quality to the printer part, a printing part for controlling the printer part and printing image quality adjustment patterns on the transfer belt and a non-image region of the recording medium, and an image quality adjusting part for reading the image quality adjustment patterns printed on the transfer belt or the recording medium to use read image quality adjustment patterns and to calculate the parameters of the image quality adjustment so as to adjust the image quality of the image processing part with the parameters.
