<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a bisphenol compound by decomposing an aromatic polycarbonate, providing a high yield of the bisphenol compound, causing little by-product and facilitating the separation of the bisphenol compound, and to provide a production apparatus utilizable for the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the bisphenol compound includes hydrolyzing the aromatic polycarbonate in the presence of calcium carbonate with a superheated steam to afford at least the bisphenol compound and carbon dioxide. The apparatus for producing the bisphenol compound has a reactor 1 for mixing aromatic polycarbonate particles with calcium carbonate particles in the flow of the superheated steam, and a cooler 6a for cooling both of the bisphenol compound formed at the reactor and the unreacted superheated steam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
