<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining whether a foreign material of a methyl methacrylate-based copolymer (B) on the surface of a compact composed of methyl methacrylate-based copolymer (A) is the same as the methyl methacrylate-based copolymer (A). <P>SOLUTION: The method for determining the foreign material of a methyl (meth)acrylate-based copolymer includes steps (1) to (3), wherein step (1) is a process for measuring specific parametersαtoγon methyl methacrylate-based copolymer (A) by micro-IR spectrum measurement to determine respective upper and lower limits thereof; step (2) is a process for measuring specific parametersαtoγ, on the methyl methacrylate-based copolymer (B) by the micro-IR spectrum measurement to determine respective upper and lower limits thereof; and a step (3) is the process for comparing the upper and lower limits of the parametersαtoγmeasured on the methyl methacrylate-based copolymer (B) with those of the parametersαtoγon the methyl (meth)acrylate-based copolymer (A) corresponding to them. When the intensity at the highest peak that appears in the range of wave number from 1,800-1,650 cm<SP>-1</SP>isδ, the parameterαis a value that the highest peak that appears in the range of wave number from 1,500-1,470 cm<SP>-1</SP>is divided byδ, the parameterβthat the highest peak that appears in the range of wave number from 1,100-1,020 cm<SP>-1</SP>is divided byδ; and the parameterγthat the highest peak that appears in the range of wave number from 970-920 cm<SP>-1</SP>is divided byδ. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
