PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timepiece capable of fully securing fluidtightness and airtightness under severe environments despite its simple structure, and a method of manufacturing the timepiece with which the timepiece can be efficiently manufactured at low cost. SOLUTION: A watch 1 includes: an exterior portion 2 having a sealed structure; and a movement 3 which is housed inside the external portion 2 and has a clock needle (not shown). The exterior portion 2 has a glass plate 21, a bezel 22, a shell portion 23 and a rear lid 25, the connection portion of each component being connected by joining films 11, 12, 13 consisting of plasma polymerization films each containing organosiloxane as a main component. This improves the airtightness of the sealed structure and increases the degree of freedom of designing the watch 1 since a packing of the connection portion is unnecessary. A film 14 consisting of the plasma polymerization film is provided on the underside of the glass plate 21. Since the film 14 has moisture-absorption characteristics, an anti-fogging effect of the glass plate 21 can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
