PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor deterioration in a tail cord, in an elevator device. SOLUTION: This elevator device includes an external connecting apparatus 8 installed in a car, a main control part 17 fixedly arranged by including a main control device 23 for controlling a hoisting machine, an external signal input device 9 and the flexible tail cord 7 including a signal conductor 13 for connecting the external signal input device 9 and the external connecting apparatus 8, a power source line 12 and a voltage monitoring line 14. The external signal input device 9 is fixedly arranged, and includes a power source device 11 and a voltage monitoring device 15, and supplies source voltage from the power source device 11 to the external connecting apparatus 8, and sends an external signal to the main control part 17 by inputting the external signal from the external connecting apparatus 8. Feedback voltage of the source voltage sent to the external connecting apparatus 8 via the power source line 12 from the power source device 11, is input to a voltage monitoring device 15 via the voltage monitoring line 14, and output of the voltage monitoring device 15 is output to the main control part 17.
