METAL EXTRACTANT, AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING PALLADIUM AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING ZIRCONIUM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal extractant which can selectively extract palladium and zirconium, and methods for extracting palladium and zirconium using the metal extractant.

SOLUTION: The metal extractant comprises an annular sulfide derivative expressed by general formula (1). In the extraction methods, the pH in 25°C of an aqueous solution including palladium and zirconium is adjusted, and thereafter, the aqueous solution is brought into contact with an organic layer containing the metal extractant.
