PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filtration system which can improve water quality of treated water produced immediately after starting a filtration process. SOLUTION: The filtration system includes: a filtration means 110 for trapping suspended solids contained in raw water W110 by a filter medium to produce treated water W120; a passage switching means for switching passages to the filtration means 110 between the filtration process for producing the treated water W120 from the raw water by the filter medium, a backwashing process for backwashing the filter medium with washing water W130 and discharging the trapped suspended solids together with the washing water W130 to the outside of the system, and a washing process for rinsing the washed filter medium with rinse water W110 and discharging the rinse water W110 to the outside of the system; a chemical supply means 120 for supplying a chemical to the rinse water W110 flowing into the filtration means 110; and a control means 101 for controlling the passage switching means so that the filtration process, backwashing process, and washing process are sequentially performed, and controlling the chemical supply means 120 so that the chemical is supplied to the rinse water W110 in the washing process.
