<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic paint composition applicable to various industrial products, especially outer plate of a car, capable of forming a paint film generally high in brightness, generating coherent color and delicate hue change in highlight (near specular reflection light) and capable of perceiving whiteness in shade (oblique direction), and to provide a method of forming a paint film capable of forming a paint film. <P>SOLUTION: The metallic paint composition includes a scale-like aluminum pigment and a scale-like coherent pigment. The IV value of the scale-like aluminum pigment in forming paint film is not smaller than 100 and not greater than 200. The scale-like coherent pigment is prepared by coating titanium oxide on a translucent scale-like base material and the scale-like base material is an artificial mica or a silica flake. A method of forming a paint film in which the paint composition is coated on a base material and a clear paint is coated further is also disclosed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
