<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device, which is capable of making effective use of the extended setting set up once without performing the extended setting each time, and is capable of improving user's convenience. <P>SOLUTION: A printing device 6000 is connected to a local host 5000 which instructs execution of printing, and also connected to a server 100 through a network 10. The local host generates a print job in response to user input, and the printing device executes printing based on the print job. The server generates, upon receipt of a request of extension print setting for extending a preliminarily specified basic print setting, extension print setting information showing the extension print setting according to the printing device. The printing device requests, upon receipt of a request of extension print setting resulting from requesting of extension print setting in user input from the local host, the extension print setting to the server. The printing device receives the extension print setting information from the server, retains the extension print setting information as retention extension setting information, and transmits the retention extension setting information to the local host. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
