PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stimulation-responsive compound that can be deformed (displaced) at a low voltage and an actuator using the same, and to provide a manufacturing method of the stimulation-responsive compound. SOLUTION: The stimulation-responsive compound comprises a unit A having a bond functioning as a rotary shaft, a first unit B arranged at a first bonding portion of the unit A, a second unit B arranged at a second bonding portion of the unit A, a first unit C bonded to the first unit B and a second unit C bonded to the second unit B, where the first unit B and the second unit B are bonded by an oxidation-reduction reaction and the first unit C and the second unit C exhibit liquid crystallinity.
