PURPOSE: An image projection apparatus and a method for correcting an image are provided to implement high reproduction performance when projecting an image to a colored screen. CONSTITUTION: Gradation input signal by each color channel is outputted to a projected plane(202). Using a photographing apparatus, a gradation image by the outputted each channel is photographed. Each color channel value is extracted from the photographed image(204). The input signal is compensated using the extracted each channel value(212).
