PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio video device which displays a difference of functions between devices constituting an AV system, and can notice that a desired function does not work. SOLUTION: The device is provided with: a sink device interface which transmits and receives control information by a sink device while transmitting audio and video signals to the sink device; a sink device function detection unit which detects an optional function which the sink device does not support out of a plurality of predetermined optional functions based on control information which the sink device interface receives from the sink device; and a display means which performs processing to display a specific text or a specific figure showing arbitrary function detection when the sink device function detection unit detects the optional function which the sink device does not support.
