PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal transmitting device that prevents a reduction in SN ratio due to compression and expansion of nonlinear conversion, while executing constant luminance transmission satisfying constant luminance principle. SOLUTION: The video signal transmitting device 1B includes: a luminance signal generating means 10 for generating a luminance signal by mixing color signals of linear signals; a band limiting means 11B for extracting a signal of a low frequency component from the colon signals; a downsampling means 12 for downsampling the extracted red and blue signals; a high band signal generating means 14 for generating a high band luminance signal from the luminance signal; a high band signal adding means 15 for adding the high band luminance signal to the green signal extracted by the band limiting means 11B; and a nonlinear conversion means 13B for converting the added signal and the downsampled red and green signals into nonlinear signals. The nonlinear luminance added green signal, the low band nonlinear red signal and the low band nonlinear blue signal are used as video signal for transmission. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
