The method involves linking an alternating current (AC) voltage-side with an air supply network (12) i.e. medium voltage network, by a transformer. Control signals are computed based on a provided voltage control value for self-communicated power converters (4) of a network-side power converter arrangement. Pulse patterns are optimized such that control units are phase shifted to each other. A reference-control signal is formed by the control signals, where harmonics of one of the control signals are phase-shifted by 180 degrees for harmonics of the reference control signal. An independent claim is also included for a network-side power converter arrangement for a voltage link converter comprising two self-communicated power converters.
