<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the carrier which has just been supplied and has not deteriorated is less liable to be discharged from a discharge opening, in which the charging performance of the developer is stable and reproducibility of an image density is high, and which is suitable for resource saving, as well. <P>SOLUTION: At an upper portion of the developing device 4d, a toner supply portion 8d, which supplies toner in an amount corresponding to a video count value for each image formation, and a carrier supply portion 9d, which supplies 10 g of carrier every 10 minutes, are connected. In the center portion of the stirring chamber of the developing device 4d, the discharge opening 40, from which developer overflows when the agent surface raises as a result of the supply of carrier, is disposed. A toner supply opening 33a is disposed at the upstream end portion of the stirring chamber 24, the discharge opening 40 is disposed at the longitudinal central portion of the stirring chamber 24, and a carrier supply opening 33b is located in a vicinity downstream of the discharge opening 40. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
