PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooler of high performance and high defrosting efficiency, concerning a heat exchanger used in a refrigeration and air conditioning device, and the like. SOLUTION: The completely-independent fin tube type heat exchanger includes: a number of plate fins 3 arranged in parallel with each other so as to allow airflow to pass therebetween; and refrigerant pipes 2 penetrating through the plate fins 3 substantially perpendiculary so that a fluid flows therein. The refrigerant pipes 2 are disposed zigzag to the airflow, and the plate fins 3 are separated from the refrigerant pipes 2 by each row. In the plate fins, two or more ribs 3h projecting substantially horizontally are provided substantially vertically at regular intervals. Thus, the performance of the heat exchanger 1 is improved, residual water in defrosting operation is prevented and the number of defrosting operation is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
