PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a hybrid vehicle, allowing proper reduction of battery consumption in time of catalyst warming-up.
SOLUTION: The controller for the hybrid vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, a motor generator, a catalyst, and a heating means heating the catalyst. A catalyst warming-up means warms up the catalyst by the heating means when a travel request power is higher than a prescribed decision value when a warming-up request for the catalyst is performed. In this case, a control means controls output of the internal combustion engine such that the travel request power is satisfied. Fundamentally, energy necessary for the heating means is smaller than travel energy when performing an EV travel. Therefor, by warming up the catalyst by the heating means, the battery consumption in time of the catalyst warming-up can be properly reduced as compared with when warming up the catalyst by exhaust emission of the internal combustion engine.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
