<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarizing film having excellent optical characteristics while ensuring a sufficient product width. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a polarizing film, uniaxial stretching is performed before or during the process of swelling, dyeing, borating, cleaning, and drying a polyvinyl alcohol film 10. In the method, in the uniaxial stretching using a circumferential speed difference between two nip rolls 30, 30' in the boration, a sponge rubber guide roll 2 is disposed between the nip rolls 30, 30' disposed on the upstream side and the downstream side of the polyvinyl alcohol film 10 in the conveyance direction, distant from the upstream side by at least 1/3 of the distance between the nip rolls. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
