<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-step integration type A-D converting circuit for mitigating lower over-range, and an imaging device employing the A-D converting circuit. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a solid-state imaging device having a pixel area where a plurality of elements for performing photoelectric conversion are arranged, and a plurality of A-D converting circuits for converting outputs of the photoelectric conversion elements into digital signals. Each of the A-D converting circuits is a multi-step integration type A-D converting circuit. In such a solid-state imaging device, the A-D converting circuit has a mechanism for adjusting a differential from a reference level after higher conversion by changing its value like e.g., a period p1, thereby suppressing the deterioration of lower linearity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
