PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication method that prevents spoofing of an IP packet. SOLUTION: An address generating apparatus generates a specific character string by using a unidirectional function from a IPv6 address of an external terminal, internal terminal identification information, expiration date information and a shared key stored therein. A part of the character string, the internal terminal identification information, and the expiration date information are combined to be set as an interface ID to be generated for each external terminal. The address generating apparatus generates the destination address of the IPv6 by combining the interface ID generated for each external terminal and the Prefix address of a specific network, and transmits the generated destination address to the external terminal. A gateway device generates the specific character string by using the unidirectional function from the transmission source address of the received packet, the internal terminal identification information and date information extracted from the interface ID of the destination address of the received packet and the shared key stored therein, and then determines whether the external terminal is an authenticated terminal on the other end of the line.
