PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disaster recovery technology by which the improvement of the speed of FO is attained by reading and applying a log with granularity finer than that of a file, and the log is correctly read even if a log writing unit of a main site is large by performing the re-reading or reading in cooperation with remote copy of the log in reading and application processing of the log. SOLUTION: In a disaster recovery system constituted of a main site and a sub-site, writing is performed by unit of log blocks constituted of a plurality of log records at the main site, when the log is applied at the sub-site, the log block is read from a sub-storage, consistency is verified, whether or not reading processing competes with writing processing by remote copy is determined in reading the log block, only the log block determined to be no competition by determination is applied to a data base, and the log is independently applied at the sub-site to recover the data base.
