PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam generating device capable of producing steam with high energy efficiency. SOLUTION: This steam generating device includes a compressing mechanism 2 for heating the air in the atmosphere by adiabatic compression, a heat exchanging mechanism 3 producing the steam at least from the water by exchanging heat between the air heated by the compressing mechanism and the water, an expanding mechanism 4 for adiabatically expanding the air exchanging heat in the heat exchanging mechanism 3, and a transmitting mechanism 5 for applying the energy generated by the adiabatic expansion of the expanding mechanism 4 to the compressing mechanism 2 as the energy for adiabatic compression.
