PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device with a simple structure, capable of being surely mounted without causing a floating or a level difference between its cylindrical portion and its operating portion, in one mainly used for operation of various pieces of electronic equipment in a cabin of an automobile. SOLUTION: In the switch device, a press-fit part 22D formed on a prescribed part of a lateral surface of the operating portion 22A and protruded outward for being press-connected to an inner surface of the cylindrical portion 23, is prepared, and a groove part 22F at a lower part of the press-fit part 22D is formed, thereby, even if shaving is generated upon press-fitting of the cylindrical portion 23 onto the operating portion 22A, the shaving gets into the groove part 22F at a lower part of the press-fit part 22D and a floating between a lower end surface 23B of the cylindrical portion 23 and a rest part 22E or a level difference between an upper surface of the operation portion 22A and an upper surface of the cylindrical portion 23 is not caused.
