The integral helmet (1) has an impact resistant helmet calotte (2) and a shock-absorbing, padded interior which comprises a visor opening (4) and a ventilation device. The visor opening is completely surrounded by the helmet calotte and a chin piece (3). An air guiding channel (6) is arranged at the outer side of the helmet calotte. Ventilation openings (31,32) are provided in the chin piece, which open in the air guiding channel.
