<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preference determination method that leaves little room for deceit so as to solve problems of questionnaire, interview and pupillary surveys in existing preference determination. <P>SOLUTION: A subject's pupil area is measured while he/she views a target screen displaying a character string and a nontarget screen.
