METHOD FOR EXTRACTING GROWTH ACCELERATION SUBSTANCE AND alpha-TOCOPHEROL USING SHOCHU LEES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a growth acceleration substance and α-tocopherol contained in Shochu (Japanese distilled spirit) lees.

SOLUTION: A method for extracting the growth acceleration substance and α-tocopherol by using Shochu lees includes a first process for adjusting the pH of a liquid part, obtained by subjecting the Shochu lees to solid-liquid separation or the concentrated solution thereof to 8.9-9.1; a second process for subsequently extracting the liquid part or the concentrated solution thereof with hexane; and a third process for separating a fraction containing butoxybutyl alcohol and/or α-tocopherol.
