PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bag type filter which prevents a glass fiber from being stripped by air flow and prolongs the product life of a filter medium by preventing the glass fiber sheet as a base material of the filter medium from directly contacting with the air flow. SOLUTION: The bag type air filter is prepared by sticking each of reinforcing sheets 3, 3' on both sides of the upstream side and downstream side respectively to the air flow of the filter medium sheet made from the glass fiber and sticking the bag type filter medium 1, which is made to a bag by piling up the two sheets, inserting other side edges into a covering cloth except one side edge and further sewing up them with yarn over the covering cloth, on an outer peripheral frame 11 with an adhesive or double-sided tape 12 so as to be fixed and held.
