PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a metal coating film in which the fine carbonaceous material of nanometer size is uniformly dispersed. SOLUTION: In the method of forming metal coating film for plating metal coating film includes a process of plating the metal coating film in which the fine carbonaceous material is dispersed on the surface of material to be plated by using a plating liquid having the fine carbonaceous material dispersed therein, a surface active agent is added into the plating liquid, at least one of carbon dioxide and inactive gas is supplied and the plating is performed such that at least one of the carbon dioxide and inactive gas gets to a supercritical state or a subcritical state.
