PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescence endoscope, where the quantitative information of a subject is obtainable. SOLUTION: The fluorescence endoscope 100 includes a light source 10 to irradiate both exciting light and reference light to a subject body part X for observation, an image generation part 41 that photographs fluorescent light generated at the observation body part X by irradiating the exciting light from the light source 10 to obtain a fluorescence image, or photographs the return light returning from the observation body part X by irradiating the reference light to obtain a reference image, an image correction part 43 to generate a corrected fluorescence image by correcting the fluorescence image using the reference image obtained by the image generation part 41, an effective region setting part 47 to set up an effective region within a predetermined allowable range of brightness error levels in the corrected fluorescence image generated by the image correction part 43, a regional extraction part 45 to extract a high luminance region exceeding the prescribed threshold brightness level in the corrected fluorescence images, and a display 51 to discriminately display whether the high luminance region extracted by the regional extraction part 45 is present in the effective region.
