PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid ejecting apparatus which prevents adhesion of an ink splash to a nozzle opening and printing failures even if an ink film formed between a cap member and a recording head breaks to scatter the ink splash. SOLUTION: The fluid ejecting apparatus includes a fluid ejecting head in which nozzles that eject a fluid are formed, the cap member which is configured to take a state of contacting to a nozzle formation surface of the fluid ejecting head and a state of being isolated from the nozzle formation surface and which forms a sealed space on the periphery of an opening of the nozzle in the contact state, and a pressurization means which pressurizes an internal space surrounded by the nozzle formation surface and an inner surface of the cap member.
