PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to continuously separate many kinds of light bulbs for illumination. SOLUTION: The material separation processing method includes: a step of successively supplying a used light bulb L for illumination to a conveyance means 10 which is continuously operated such that a base part L3 of the used light bulb L is held; a step of supplying the light bulb L for illumination supplied to the conveyance means to at least one cutting means 20 via the conveyance means 10; a step of performing cutting separation of a heterogeneous material part of the light bulb L for illumination without releasing the base part L3 held by the cutting means 20; and a subsequent step of releasing the base part L3 remaining on the conveyance means 10. Also, the material fractionation method includes: a step of supplying the remaining part of the light bulb L for illumination held via the conveyance means 10 to at least one crushing means 30 after performing the cutting separation of the heterogeneous material part of the light bulb L for illumination without releasing the base part L3 held by the cutting means 20; a step of performing crushing separation of the heterogeneous material part of the light bulb L for illumination without releasing the base part L3 held by the crushing means 30; and a subsequent step of releasing the base part L3 remaining on the conveyance part 10.
