<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type liquid crystal display element for controlling drive of the reflection type liquid crystal display element with low voltage and improving brightness. <P>SOLUTION: The problem is solved by the reflection type liquid crystal display element having a first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate, a chiral nematic liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first substrate and a second substrate and including liquid crystal molecules winding a spiral on any one of clockwise twining and counterclockwise twining, and a first thin film arranged on the surface of a liquid crystal interface side out of the first substrate and having a first optical active part on a chain side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
