PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pure copper plate having a fine and homogeneous structure, having satisfactory workability, and achieving working in heavy cutting in particular. SOLUTION: Pure copper ingots having purity of≥99.96 wt.% are heated to 550 to 800°C, and after they are subjected to hot pressing with a total rolling rates of≥80% and at a rolling finishing temperature of 500 to 700°C, are quenched at a cooling rate of 200 to 1,000°C/min until the temperature reaches≤200°C from the rolling finishing temperature, and then cold-rolled at a rolling ratio of 25 to 60%, and annealed.
