PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an ultraviolet crosslinked foam insulated wire wherein the dispersion in foam ratio of a foam insulation layer can be suppressed, and the productivity is high. SOLUTION: The method includes: dissolving a gas in an ultraviolet curable resin composition; subsequently applying the composition on a conductor 3; irradiating ultraviolet light on the composition; and forming bubbles and forming a foam insulation layer 5 by curing the composition while growing bubbles 4 due to a decrease in solubility of the gas during the curing of the resin composition.
