SEISMIC EQUIPMENT HANDLING

Launch and retrieval equipment for use in seismic testing and methods for seismic testing are described. Elements of the equipment may include a pivoting frame base 100 to hold a seismic device 400, sliding rails 350 that hold the seismic equipment in place on the frame base 100 and a winch 300 and cable 300 that operates to launch the seismic device 400 keeping it tethered to a vessel 10. The launch device is capable of launching and retrieving seismic devices 400 without the use of conventional cranes.
