PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for inkjet printing by which printing can be performed by properly imparting a transparent liquid without excess/shortage to a printing paper. SOLUTION: The transparent liquid is imparted to the white ground section of the printing paper to equalize the moisture content of the whole printing paper. In this case, the imparting amount of the transparent liquid which is imparted to the white ground section of the printing paper is determined based on information such as the paper kind and the paper thickness of the printing paper, the presence/absence of a rear surface printing, the printing speed, and the printing image.
