PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temporary-door-opened-state maintaining device of an automatic door closing apparatus which maintains a door-opened state only within a preset time long enough to enable the safe entrance and exist of a person or baggage after a door is opened, and which automatically closes the sliding door after a lapse of the preset time. SOLUTION: The automatic door closing apparatus makes the sliding door D closed by being automatically moved in a closing direction after being opened. A door-opened-state maintaining mechanism 1, which is constituted to temporarily maintain the door-opened state by a stopper 12 operating with a time delay, is mounted on the side of the sliding door D.
