PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent gas barrier film used suitably when a high gas barrier property is required. SOLUTION: The gas barrier laminated film includes a gas barrier layer 2 and a gas barrier film layer 3 laminated on one side and a gas barrier layer 4 and a gas barrier film layer 5 laminated on the other side, of a substrate layer 1 and further satisfies following relations; 0.001≤XaYa, 0.001≤XbYb and (Xa+Xb)(Ya+Yb)≤0.5: provided that the gas barrier layers 2 and 4 consist of silicon oxide, the gas barrier film layers 3 and 5 are obtained by applying and drying a coating liquid containing a silicon compound of the formula: Si(OR<SP>1</SP>)<SB>4</SB>, a silicon compound of the formula: (R<SP>2</SP>Si(OR<SP>3</SP>)<SB>3</SB>)<SB>n</SB>and an ingredient e.g. PVA; wherein the film thicknesses (Xa) and (Xb) respectively of the gas barrier layers 2 and 4 are 0.005-0.5μm and the film thicknesses (Ya) and (Yb) respectively of the gas barrier film layers 3 and 5 are 0.05-3μm.
