Provided is a method of starting a rotational machine provided with a main shaft, a main bearing rotatably supporting the main shaft, a main bearing lubrication oil pump for circulating lubrication oil in the main bearing. The starting method is comprised of a step for rotating the main shaft to increase the temperature of the main bearing while the main bearing lubrication oil pump is not operated, and a step for operating the main bearing lubrication oil pump to start supplying the lubrication oil to the main bearing, after the step for increasing the temperature of the main bearing. |
