<p>The apparatus has a heat exchanger (LWT) and a blower (11) in a connection of a forward flow line (VL-NW) and return line (RL-NW) of a local heating network (1). The heat exchanger is designed for the transmission of heat contained in ambient air. The heat is transferred to a heat carrier which circulates in the local heating network. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a cold local heating network.</p>
