<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge water while using it for an starting operation of a power generating device even in the case of a low head where a no-load flow rate exceeds a discharge limit volume. <P>SOLUTION: When a start initial-stage discharge limit volume of discharged water discharged from a waterwheel is smaller than a no-load flow rate of supplied water to the waterwheel required for operating a generator at a rated number of revolutions without load, the discharged water from the waterwheel is set below the start initial-stage discharge limit volume by arranging the generator in parallel with a power system and thereafter adjusting a guide vane in a closing direction; the rated number of revolutions of the generator is kept by subjecting the generator to a motoring operation in a start initial-stage discharge limiting period of the start initial-stage discharge limit volume; and the generator is started while adjusting the guide vane in an opening direction in a range wherein the discharged water from the waterwheel does not exceeds an increased discharge limit volume with increase of a discharge limit volume after the start initial-stage discharge limiting period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
