In accordance with the present disclosure, a power management system is provided that includes a control system (12) to monitor the actual power output (28, 68) of one or more arrays of photovoltaic modules (18). The power management system includes a processor-based device to estimate the power output of the one or more arrays of photovoltaic modules (18) and to compare the estimated power output (62) to the actual power output measurement (28, 68) received from the control system (12).
