PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical composition containing Quamoclit angulata extract for treating diabetes and complications thereof is provided to reduce blood pressure and to promote insulin secretion. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes and complications thereof contains Quamoclit angulata extract. A neutriceutical food for preventing diabetes and complications contains the Quamoclit angulata extract. A method for preparing the extract comprises: a step of washing whole plant of Quamoclit angulata and isolating with water, alcohol, organic solvent, or mixture thereof to prepare the extract; and a step of filtering and compressing the extract. The method further comprises a step of purification using activated charcoal-filled column chromatography. A pharmaceutical composition for antiaging contains Quamoclit angulata extract.
