PURPOSE: A method for producing lycopene using multiple carbon sources is provided to effectively biosynthesize lycopene by inoculating transformed E.coli into a medium. CONSTITUTION: A method for producing lycopene using E.coli comprises a step of inoculating E.coli which produces lycopene to a medium containing 1-2(w/v)% of glycerol, 1-3(w/v)% of glucose, and 0.5-1(w/v)% of arabinose and a step of culturing the E.coli. The medium additionally contains 0.05-0.15 (w/v)% of leucine, 0.05-0.1(w/v)% of isoleucine, 0.1-0.3 (w/v)% of lysine, 0.2-0.4 (w/v)% of phenylalanine, 0.01-0.05 (w/v)% of valine, 0.1-0.2 (w/v)% of threonine, 0.2-0.4 (w/v)% of methionine, or 0.15-0.35 (w/v)% of glutamine. The medium also contains (NH_)_2HPO_4, KH_2PO_4, MgSO_4, CoCl_2·6H_2O, MnCl_2·4H_2O, CuCl_2·2H_2O, H_3BO_3, Na_2MoO_4 2H_2O, Zn(CH_3COO)_2·2H_2O, and Fe(III)citrate. |
