PURPOSE: A method for differentiating mesenchymal stem cells to GABAergic neuronal cells is provide to differentiate into a large amount of GABAergic neuronal cells which is used for cell therapeutic method for neurologic disorders. CONSTITUTION: A method for differentiating mesenchymal stem cells to GABAergic neuronal cells comprises: a step of preparing the mesenchymal stem cells; and a step f culturing the mesenchymal stem cells in a medium containing BDNF(brain-derived neurotrophic factor). The medium is DMEM/F2. The mesenchymal stem cells are prepared from bone marrow, umbilical cord blood, or adipose tissue. A composition for inducing differentiation of the mesenchymal stem cells contains BDNF as an active ingredient. The composition additionally contains EGF(epidermal growth factor), FGF-2(fibroblast growth factor-2), or mixture thereof.
